Lead actors not yet finalised, Karan Johar announces release date of Shuddhi

Karan Johar is not the one to be let down by such developments. The producer tweeted the release date of ‘Shuddhi’ despite the fact that the movie still has no final star cast.

Producer-director Karan Johar’s Shuddhi has been in news for all the wrong reasons – first an ailing Hrithik Roshan walked out of it, then Kareena Kapoor too decided to follow Hrithik and now Deepika Padukone has also put a question mark on working in the movie.

But Karan Johar is not the one to be let down by such developments. The producer tweeted the release date of ‘Shuddhi’ despite the fact that the movie still has no final star cast.

Hrithik Roshan had released a statement about his decision to walk out of the movie since he was busy with Bang Bang.

Karan Malhotra’s ‘Shuddhi‘, to be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, was initially slated to take off in December 2013. The project was however pushed to mid-2014 because of lead actor Hrithik Roshan’s brain surgery.

Karan Malhotra, who had written the script with his wife Ekta Pathak Malhotra, was very excited about the project, and had spoken about Hithik Roshan working on his physique to look like a he-man of the 70s, a la Dharmendra, while the leading lady, Kareena Kapoor Khan would be retaining her natural physique.
