Sooraj Pancholi says Jiah Khan was his ‘shortest’ relationship, reveals he’s been in a steady relationship for seven years

After being acquitted in Jiah Khan’s suicide case, Sooraj Pancholi is looking at starting afresh. The actor is set to star in a music video and then hopes to begin work on a web series. While he’s trying to get his professional life back on track, Sooraj also revealed that he’s been in a relationship for seven years. Given his lady love is not from the industry, he did not reveal details but shared that they are going steady, and may also tie the knot in a few years.

Sharing that his relationship with Jiah was probably the “shortest” one he ever had, the actor told Bombay Times that he has been in a relationship for seven years now and called his life “beautiful.”

He also shared that relationships are very personal for him since he has been judged earlier. he said that “general perception” about him was “misconstrued” as many people judged him “unfairly” for being a “bad lover or partner.”

The actor also opened up about his past and shared that he’s not running away from it. He added that however, he does understand the value of freedom and considers it to be his biggest success. Talking about losing out on work in the past decade, Sooraj Pancholi said that while there were travel restrictions, as the case went on, work offers also reduced.

Sooraj said that he understood why producers were “hesitant” to work with him. “I have always been realistic. I knew the entertainment industry would not always be glitzy, glamourous, and easy even before I stepped into it, and I was prepared for it,” he shared.

In April this year, Sooraj Pancholi was announced not guilty in the Jiah Khan case. The actor had released a statement after being acquitted by the court and mentioned the last 10 years have been ‘painful’ for him and his family. Jiah Khan died by suicide in June 2013. Son of Aditya Pancholi-Zarina Wahab, Sooraj was dating Jiah but had reportedly broken up.
