When Sonakshi Sinha accepted ‘conservative’ dad Shatrughan Sinha doesn’t want her to go to husband’s house: ‘He is possessive’

The actor made no bones about stating that her father was indeed “conservative.” Poonam Sinha, Shatrughan’s wife and Sonakshi’s mother, in an audio-visual message, played during the show, echoed similar sentiments. “He is as conservative as any father can be. I would say he is much more. Coming from the background that he comes from which is Bihar. They are conservative.” The Kalicharan actor in a video message dismissed that he was conservative and asserted that he was “quite modern.’ “I am quite modern but that doesn’t mean I am liberal to the extent of going for designer clothes, or no clothes. When I say designer clothes, you know what I am trying to say,” he added.

Poonam then revealed that despite the Dabangg actor being in showbiz, as a protective mother, she often had objections to Sonakshi wearing “short” clothes. “Even today, I tell her, ‘Look this is not going. It is too short.’ And Sonakshi will say, ‘Okay, I will pull it down a little bit.” This kind of thing goes on and on between us,” she joked.

Sonakshi then added that her mother was only fulfilling dad’s wishes who shot over her shoulders to make sure everything was fine. “By designer clothes, he meant revealing clothes. I’m in a field where I have to eventually do wear something which is glamorous but I have always maintained that glamour doesn’t always mean skimpy clothes. Luckily for me today I am in a position to say that I will wear what I am comfortable wearing and what I am not comfortable wearing. If someone wants me in their film, they can take me. If not, then they want someone who can go beyond that level, he can always go to someone else. It is not a compulsion.”

Shatrughan clarified that it was not just him but Sonakshi was equally possessive about her doting father. “I am possessive about the apple of my eye, Sonakshi, and let me also tell you that even she is very possessive about me. In fact she was so possessive that she won’t let her mother sit next to me. She would say, ‘Yahan se hato yeh papa ka hai. Yahan sirf main baithungi.’ She always advises me on three things that I must not do. She told me, ‘Cigarette nahin peene ka, beer nahin peene ka aur ladki se baat nahin karne ka. Mummy se bhi nahin. Sirf mujhse baat karo,” added the actor.

It was been reported that Sonakshi and Zaheer are getting hitched on June 23. While the couple remains silent, wedding bells are ringing loud with confirmations from family and friends like Poonam Dhillon, Yo Yo Honey Singh, and Daisy Shah.
