When Siddhant Chaturvedi talks about his heartbreak, there is a lot of drama. The actor, who broke out with his sensational performance in Gully Boy and then saw his Instagram following meteorically rise, says he uses the app to channelise his sadness and heartbreak- something he first felt when he was a 16-year-old boy. Siddhant, who has more than 2 million followers on Instagram, often uses it as a platform to share his poetry. In his latest Netflix film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, the actor plays a stand-up comedian who masks the traumas of his life through jokes. In an interview with Indianexpress.com, when asked if he uses poetry to get over heartbreaks, the actor said he does write them to channelise his "sadness, anger" as it makes him calmer. Siddhant then shared the story of his first heartbreak, which is where the poetry truly began. "I started doing it when I was 16 when my first heartbreak happened. I had written a poem for a girl and went to give it to her. I was the loser of the class, wasn't that famous. While I was giving it to her, she saw a lot of her friends look at her and was so embarrassed that this boy was giving her a note. She took it, threw it on the ground, stomped on it and walked away. I still have that poem with her shoe mark on it. It is true!" As an actor, Siddhant Chaturvedi said he has stopped using Instagram to update his followers about every detail of his life, consciously. "I used to do that earlier because I was too excited to be out there. But not anymore. I want to contribute to the algorithm and share stuff that resonates with people. It is now about my journey and the struggles. I know a lot of young guys would want their beliefs to be reassured." "Everybody is an actor, everybody is famous on Instagram," Siddhant said when asked about how is it to navigate being an actor today. "There is a lot of competition from everywhere. Everybody has got a camera, everybody is acting, everyone is putting up a show and entertaining. So now you need to detach yourself from that and ask yourself why you are doing this. For me, it is always the love for cinema, the stage, or the longer format." "Al Pacino had said in an interview years ago that there will be a day everybody will be famous and being famous won't be important anymore. It was 30 years ago, and this is the age we are living in. You need to ask yourself, if you want to be relevant or rare. I want to be rare. I am working on that right now," he added. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, also starring Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav, is produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby. The film will release on December 26 on Netflix.
