Aamir Khan was corrected by Shruti Seth when he said the wrong dialogues during Fanaa: ‘I was told bahut maar khaogi’
Shruti Seth recalled how she used to remind veteran actor Farida Jalal of her dialogues during the shoot of Fanaa but was warned against doing the same in the presence of bigger stars.

Kajol and Aamir Khan’s Fanaa(2006) was among the most critically acclaimed films of the year. In a recent interaction, Shruti Seth — who is predominantly known for her work in television but played a key role in Fanaa — spoke about her experience working with Aamir and Kajol. She recalled how she used to remind veteran actor Farida Jalal of her dialogues during the shoot but was warned against doing the same in the presence of bigger stars.
Speaking to Hindi Rush, she said, “Main Farida ji (Farida Jalal) ko unki lines yaad dilati thi toh vo mujhe kehti thi, ‘Ek din jab tum kisi bade actor ke samne aise bol dogi toh bahaut maar khaogi‘. (I used to remind Farida ji [Farida Jalal] of her lines and she would say, ‘One day, when you say something like this in front of a big actor, you’ll get scolded badly.’)”
Despite the warning, Shruti recalled reminding Aamir of his dialogues, but the superstar didn’t take it the wrong way. She said, “And I remember mai ek scene rehearse kar rahi thi toh usme maine Aamir ko I said, ‘Nahi nahi ye nahi aapki ye line hai‘. Aamir said, ‘Oh yeah right’ (And I remember, during a rehearsal, I told Aamir, ‘No, no, not this one, this is your line.’ And Aamir said, ‘Oh yeah, right!’)” She added, “But Aamir was such a chilled-out actor and it was so nice to be on set with him.”
Shruti also lauded Aamir and Kajol for making her feel welcome, despite being such big stars. She said, “For me, to share screen space with Aamir and Kajol, I was like mujhe do aise top-notch actors ke sath kaam karne ka mauka mil raha hai. But unhone kabhi aisa mehsoos nahi karvaya ki mai Aamir hoon ya Kajol hoon. (I was like, ‘I’m getting the opportunity to work with such top-notch actors.’ But they never made me feel like ‘I’m Aamir’ or ‘I’m Kajol’.)”
On the professional front, Aamir’s last film Sitaare Zameen Par was a massive hit at the box office. After the films’ success, Aamir released it on YouTube through a pay-per-view model. Kajol, on the other hand, was seen in Sarzameen, which was panned at critics and the audience alike.
