Jersey first look: Shahid Kapoor gears up for sports drama
Jersey follows the story of Arjun, a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to cricket in his late thirties.
The Hindi version of Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead, is set to release on August 28, 2020.
The makers of the Hindi remake of Telugu hit Jersey on Friday unveiled the first look of the sports drama. In the still, Shahid Kapoor is seen in cricket gear.
The film, tentatively titled Jersey, will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also directed the original movie which went on to become a critical and commercial success. Shahid will be stepping into the shoes of Nani for the Hindi version of Jersey.
Jersey follows the story of Arjun, a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to cricket in his late thirties. He also wants to fulfill his son’s wish for an Indian jersey as a gift.

Shahid Kapoor called Jersey a film that he connected with deeply. In a statement, the actor said, “It took me some time to decide what to do next after Kabir Singh. But the minute I saw Jersey, I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply.”
Produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju, the film is releasing on August 28, 2020.
