Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is IMDb’s Most Popular Indian Movie (Theatrical) of 2023

Jawan director Atlee took to Instagram to share pictures with the IMDb award for Most Popular Indian Movie (Theatrical) of 2023.

Shah Rukh Khan‘s Jawan is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. The movie earned more than Rs 1100 crore worldwide, according to reports. Now, on top of that, the film has also become the most popular Indian movie of the year, according to IMDb.

IMDb has presented the award to the film’s director Atlee. IMDb’s social media handles shared pictures of the director posing with the award.

Atlee told IMDb, “Jawan is a captivating emotional action entertainer that intricately portrays the profound emotional odyssey of a man who is determined to rectify the societal injustices. This film holds a significant place in our hearts. Its reception and love from the audience worldwide is overwhelming. Jawan marked Atlee’s debut in Hindi cinema. Along with him, he took several cast and crew members from the Tamil film industry to Bollywood. Nayanthara also made her Bollywood debut with the film, which had Vijay Sethupathi in the role of the antagonist. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs for the movie, which also became chartbusters.

Atlee, in a recent interview with a YouTube channel, said that he might be teaming up with Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan for a project. He also revealed that he would be collaborating with a Hollywood writer for the film.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy promoting his next film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
