Shah Rukh Khan ‘never thought’ that Gauri Khan would be a good mother: ‘She doesn’t come across as a children friendly lady’

Shah Rukh and Gauri welcomed their first child Aryan in 1997. In a 1998 interview with Rediff, Shah Rukh said that he was in the room when Aryan was born and was quite scared for Gauri. “I went with her to the operation theatre for her Caesarean. And I thought she’d die. Didn’t even think about the kid at that point in time. It wasn’t important to me. She was shivering so much and I know logically that you don’t die while giving birth to babies. But still, I just got a little scared,” he said.

He also shared why he named his son Aryan and said, “I thought when he tells a girl that my name is Aryan, Aryan Khan, she’ll be really impressed.” He mentioned that he did not change any diapers and said that as a child, Aryan looked like a mix of Shah Rukh and Gauri. “I don’t know… He’s got expressions like mine, I think… But he’s a mixture. And no, I haven’t changed any diapers.”

Shah Rukh’s son Aryan will soon be releasing his show Stardom, where he is the showrunner. His daughter Suhana made her debut in the movies in 2023 with The Archies. She will next be seen with SRK in Sujoy Ghosh’s King.
