Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani reunite after the blockbuster success of last year's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in the upcoming film Satyaprem Ki Katha. The film has been described as the 'musical romance of the year' in the first teaser, which was unveiled on Thursday. Kartik's character is named Satyaprem, while Kiara plays Katha. The one-minute teaser doesn't reveal the plot, but it gives audiences a glimpse of the high emotion they can expect from the film, directed by Sameer Vidwans. There is celebration, confrontation, and even heartbreak, as the two characters visit exotic locations across the country. Several scenes appear to take place in Kashmir, with the stunning vistas providing a backdrop for the drama. We also see the characters get married, dance at a party, and go on epic bike rides. While the first half of the teaser features a romantic voiceover by Satyaprem, the second is a collection of shots with a ballad playing the background. The title could also be translated to 'the story of true love'. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film made more than Rs 250 crore worldwide, and was largely credited with bringing audiences in North India back to theatres after the pandemic. Satyaprem Ki Katha seems nothing like that film, and actually seems to have more in common with Kartik's ill-fated Love Aaj Kal remake. He last starred in the critical and commercial dud Shehzada, while Kiara was last seen in the film Govinda Naam Mera. Satyaprem Ki Katha also stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Gajraj Rao, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, Nirrmite Saawaant, and Shikha Talsania. The film will be released in theatres on June 29.
