The 2023 edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) kickstarted on Friday in Abu Dhabi with IIFA Rocks. The evening saw many Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Farah Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Sunidhi Chauhan and Badshah among others come together for a musical evening. Salman Khan shared a video from IIFA Rocks where he was seen enjoying the performance of singer Sukhbir on the song "Sauda Khara Khara" along with his sister Arpita Khan Sharma. In the video, we can also see Varun Dhawan and Salman's bodyguard Shera. Farah and Rajkummar hosted IIFA Rocks and videos of them having fun with the audience were shared on social media. In one of the videos, Farah and Rajkummar asked Vicky Kaushal to sell Farah's used tissue and a man agreed to buy it too for Rs 1 lakh. Singers Badshah, Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi and Nucleya performed at the star-studded evening. Reacting to the video on the green carpet of IIFA Rocks, Vicky told ANI, "Kayi baar bahut baatein badh jaati hain (Sometimes things are blown out of proportion). There is unnecessary chatter about many things. Things are not actually as they seem sometimes in the video. There is no point in talking about that." At IIFA Rocks, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi grabbed most of the technical awards including Dialogues, Screenplay, and Cinematography, and Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra won the award for Special Effects (Visuals).
