‘Salman Khan pulled me off track as a train sped towards us,’ Ayesha Jhulka recalls how Bhai saved her life: ‘He could have been the one…’

Ayesha Jhulka appeared in many hit films during the 1990s when safety protocols on the film sets were not strict, and the actor recalled one such incident when her life was saved in the nick of time. In a recent interview, Ayesha recalled how Salman Khan saved her life during the shoot of their film Kurbaan. Ayesha shared that they were shooting on a railway track and when suddenly, a train sped towards them and Salman instinctively pulled Ayesha from the track.

Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Ayesha said that there were no walkie-talkies during the shoot of this 1991 film and recalled that people would either just scream instructions towards each other, or wave flags to signal a command from a distance. They were shooting on a railway track near Igatpuri and were told that there would be no trains on the track for the scheduled time. “We were shooting on the tracks. The cameraman had placed he camera. I had to dance on the track, and before me Salman was dancing on the track,” she recalled.

Ayesha said that since this was a very small station, there weren’t many people around and they had taken all the required permissions. “Our song was playing very loudly. We were rehearsing over and over again and suddenly, I was moved in such a quick motion that I felt like all my organs moved. He just had to pull me because he heard the train,” she shared. Ayesha said that for a few moments, she could not comprehend what had happened and everyone had to tell her that Salman had just saved her life. “He was screaming at the unit guys. He could have been the one on the track, he was just giving a shot before me,” she shared.

Kurbaan was Ayesha’s first Hindi film. She then appeared in films like Khiladi, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Chachi 420 among many others. She was recently seen in the reality show Celebrity MasterChef. Ayesha entered the show as a wild card contestant but was eliminated just a few weeks later.
