Salman Khan meets Malaika Arora following her stepfather Anil Mehta’s demise, day after entire Khan family’s show of support

Malaika Arora's stepfather, Anil Mehta, passed away on September 11. He died by alleged suicide. His cremation was held on September 12.

Actor Salman Khan visited Malaika Arora’s parents’ house on Thursday evening, following the death of her stepfather Anil Mehta. Salman was there to offer his condolences at this tough time, a day after other members of his family attended Anil Mehta’s funeral. Malaika’s stepfather passed away on the morning of September 11, and was cremated on September 12. He died by alleged suicide.

Photos and videos of Salman’s visit were shared online by photographers stationed outside Malaika’s parents’ house in Mumbai. He entered through the barricades, surrounded by his personal security.

Malaika Arora was married to Salman’s younger brother, Arbaaz Khan, but the two parted ways in 2017. Arbaaz was the first to arrive at Malaika’s parents’ house on Wednesday, as she was out of town for work. Other members of Salman’s family, such as parents Salim and Salma Khan, his stepmother Helen, sisters Alvira and Arpita, and brother Sohail, were also seen visiting the residence to offer condolences.

Other than Salman, Kriti Sanon, Karisma Kapoor, Arpita Khan, Alvira Khan, Arhaan Khan, and Nirvan Khan were also seen at the location. Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora were seen leaving the residence later at night.

Earlier in the day, Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan, was also seen arriving at the residence to offer heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time.

Malaika’s stepfather’s cremation was held at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday. Malaika arrived with her mother, Joyce Polycarp, and her son, Arhaan Khan. Malaika’s sister, Amrita Arora, was also seen with her family. Arjun Kapoor, who dated Malaika for several years, has been by the family ever since the news broke.

Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Orhan Awatramani, Sajid Khan, Farah Khan, Guru Randhawa, Arshad Warsi, wife Maria Goretti, Salman Khan’s sister, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and many others also arrived to pay their last respects to Anil Mehta.

Malaika’s dad Anil’s death came as a shock to his family. While the tragic incident is still being investigated by the police, an officer from Bandra police earlier addressed the media and shared, “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide, but we are probing the incident from all angles. A process to file an accidental death report is on.”

On the evening of September 11, Malaika shared a note on Instagram, requesting privacy for her family. “He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time,” the family’s statement read.
