Rohit Roy says Salman Khan called him a ‘fat cow’: ‘I had put on a lot of weight, was getting frustrated with work’

Rohit Roy has been in the entertainment industry since the 1990s and in a recent interview, the actor recalled a phase when he was getting frustrated with the kind of work that he was doing on television. He recalled an anecdote where Salman Khan called him a “fat cow” and said that the conversation with the actor led to his “physical metamorphosis”.

Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Rohit said that he has known Salman since he was 15 years old and he was the one who gave the clap for his debut Bollywood film. Rohit said that during his earlier days, Salman would often compare his looks with Hollywood actor Rock Hudson. “When I was thinking of becoming an actor, he told me you look like a Hollywood actor from the 60s, you should dress like that,” he said. Rohit added that Salman still likes to share this anecdote when he meets him.

The actor then said that a few years back, when he met Salman during the Celebrity Cricket League in Ahmedabad, he expressed his frustration about the work he was getting and Salman directly told him what he thought. Rohit said, “I had put on a lot of weight, I was getting frustrated because things were not working out.” He then shared, “I told Salman that I’m not happy. I’m trying my best but things are not happening and he looked at me and said you look like a fat cow, even I wouldn’t give you any work.”

Rohit said that he and Salman spoke all night and “everything he shared with me that day led to my complete metamorphosis physically. I was 45-46 and I decided that before I touch 50, I want to be the sexiest 50 year old and it happened.” He recollected Salman’s words and said, “He said you either be like this, or you keep fighting. It wasn’t like I was looking bad, but he could see that I could be more.” Rohit recalled that it was after this transformation that he landed Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil.

Rohit Roy was recently seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13.
