Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh-starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani has been enjoying a good run in cinemas for nearly two weeks now. After 12 days, the Karan Johar film collected Rs 113.68 crore at the domestic box office and now, on its 13th day, the film has minted Rs 4.10 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s nett domestic collection to Rs 117.78 crore. The worldwide gross collection stands at Rs 225.2 crore, which is Rs 5 crore ahead of Alia’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, another romantic comedy drama.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani released in the wake of Hollywood releases Oppenheimer and Barbie, but managed to impress the audience and become one of the few Hindi films of the year to make a mark at the box office. However, the film has some big competition ahead.

With Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer releasing in theatres on Thursday, and Sunny Deol-starrer Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar-starrer OMG 2 releasing on Friday, the Alia-Ranveer film is expected to witness a dip during its third weekend in the cinemas.

Internationally, the film has minted over Rs 91 crore, as per Box Office Mojo. RARKPK had a slow start at the box office as it just brought in Rs 11.1 crore on its opening day but with great reviews and positive word of mouth, the film is now expected to have a lifetime run of Rs 150 crore, as per Bollywood Hungama.

The film marks another hit for Alia Bhatt, who has been enjoying a golden run at the box office. All her recent films – Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra – brought in big numbers, which is a feat since Hindi cinema has not been delivering consistently at the domestic box office for a couple of years now. For Ranveer Singh, RARKPK brought in some joy as the actor hasn’t had a hit in the cinemas since 2019’s Gully Boy. The actor’s recent films – 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Cirkus – performed poorly at the box office.
