Actor and MP Ravi Kishan is a well-known name in both showbiz and politics. The actor, in a recent interview, admitted that he had had to struggle a fair bit until he established himself as a star of Bhojpuri cinema. Kishan revealed he veered towards Bhojpuri cinema after not finding enough work in Bollywood.
When asked about a particular Bhojpuri movie where he is said to have used 452 cuss words, the actor appeared a little embarrassed and said he might have done something like that in the past, as he did not have enough work at the time, and took whatever role he got.
On Aap Ki Adalat, the actor said, “Yes, I must have done something like that. But that was a different time, I was not a MP then. Now I avoid doing those things. I have come up with alternatives. At first, I used to do everything at the makers’ bidding, from dancing to abusing, because I was hungry, not only for work, but literally hungry. I had no money.”
Ravi Kishan said he did his best to keep that hope alive that he could earn enough from acting, adding, “I wanted to stay alive and wanted to keep my family alive, feed them well so I did what I had to do. But now, when my own children have grown up, I am more cautious about how I appear on screen. I know what a hero should and shouldn’t do on screen. I realise that hero should have that kind of moral integrity and dignity, and therefore handle that position with great care.”
During the course of the conversation, the subject of fitness also came up, and the actor-politician admitted that he has to be healthy as people in his line of work have an obligation to appear presentable. “My body is my showroom. A lot has been invested in me, at least Rs 300-400 crore, and I want to keep that film, producers and fans alive, which is why I try and take care of myself.”
Besides appearing in Hindi and Bhojpuri movies, Ravi Kishan has also done work in television and digital medium, including shows such as Bigg Boss and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
