Actor Ranbir Kapoor says paparazzi culture is a reality every celebrity parent has to live with and him and his wife Alia Bhatt are no different. Ranbir says the couple is mindful of their daughter Raha's privacy and will try to protect it as much as possible. In a conversation with Kareena Kapoor for What Women Want, Ranbir was asked about being a celebrity parent in the age of paparazzi. Ranbir said he had witnessed first hand the media attention that Kareena and Saif Ali Khan's first son, Taimur, had received and felt there was a lot to learn from that. "We definitely don't want to sit on this high castle and say don't do this, don't do that. We understand that we both are actors, and people are interested in our lives. They want to take our photograph. When Taimur was born, the kind of attention that the media showed towards him was unbelievable. We have never seen that, ever. I don't think any industry has seen that, a child getting so much of attention," Ranbir said. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married in April 2022 and became parents to daughter Raha in November 2022. Ranbir said the couple wants their daughter to have a "normal" upbringing and don't want to cage her for anything. "So as parents, we will try to protect it (Raha's privacy) as much as we can. We just want for her to have a normal upbringing. To go to school, to not make her feel too special, different around other children. She should just have a normal life. Other that that, there is no rule that, 'Oh we want it this way.' Raha should not grow up and after 4-5 years say, 'Why are they not clicking me?' She should not be saying that also! What if she comes one day and says, 'See how much Jeh and Taimur get clicked! Mere toh koi photos he nahi le raha (no one is clicking me).'" To which, Kareena replied, "That won't happen, but actually Saif and I had also decided that we will just go with the flow. But there is always that thing, that 'This is so and so's daughter or son.' There is always that eye." Recently, Ali Bhatt had blasted the paparazzi for "invasion of privacy" after a few photographers clicked her photos while she was inside her house. She had received a lot of support from her contemporaries in the film industry. Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar, Swara Bhasker, and others came forward in support of Alia, calling the incident ‘shameful’ and ‘disgusting’.
