Ranbir chimed in an said, “The story of Shamshera was a little dated. It felt like you have seen this before, there wasn’t any newness to it.” He also added, “It didn’t work. Audience is the king. If they didn’t like it, they are right.”

Shamshera also starred Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in significant roles and was directed by Karan Malhotra. Karan took to social media after the film failed to deliver at the box office and spoke about the “hate and rage” that came his way. “Will face everything together, the good, the bad and the ugly,” he wrote as he stood by the film even after it bombed.
