Rakul Preet to star with Rajkummar Rao in ‘Shimla Mirchi’

Ramesh Sippy, who gave us the iconic film ‘Sholay’, is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood with his next venture titled ‘Shimla Mirchi’. The legendary director signed Rajkummar Rao as the lead hero and now we hear that he has finalized Rakul Preet of ‘Yaariyan’ fame to play the female lead.

The young actress will be playing the lead opposite Rajkummar for the first time. ‘Shimla Mirchi’ is said to be a rom-com where a single mother and her daughter fall in love with the same guy. Ramesh Sippy has signed Hema Malini to play the mother.

Earlier, we had reported that Rajkummar Rao was very excited about working with such a cult director and hence, he also decided to opt out of the screen adaptation of the Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘Revolution 2020’.
