Rajkumar Santhoshi on working with Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan, AR Rahman in Lahore, 1947: ‘Dream team’

Rajkumar Santhoshi said that Lahore 1947 starring Sunny Deol is a very important project for his career.

The much-awaited film ‘Lahore, 1947’, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, has already created a buzz among fans. Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan are collaborating for the first time and the film was announced following the success of Gadar 2. Now, Santoshi has said that AR Rahman and Javed Akhtar will also be a part of the film.

Santhoshi said that Lahore 1947 is a very special film for him and his career. He said, “Also, it’s a reunion with the most talented people. I worked with Aamir in Andaz Apna Apna and this time he is collaborating as a producer. On the other hand, with Sunny Deol, we made the most loved films like Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak.”

Santoshi said that this is his best ‘dream team’ and also gave an update about when they will start He said, “For a film of this magnitude, I can’t think of anyone else than AR Rahman as a music composer, he is one of the top composers in the world right now. Javed Akhtar and I share a very good bond with each other for many years, having him for this project as a lyricist is a delight. This is truly the best dream team and rare to come together. With all the positivity and full of energy, we will commence the shoot for the film very soon.”

Sunny had previously shared that Aamir approached him at the success party of Gadar 2 and asked if Sunny could meet him the next day. Curious, Sunny agreed, and after discussing ideas, they decided to collaborate on the Lahore 1947 project. The title of the film was announced in October 2023.
