Radhika Merchant calls Shah Rukh Khan ‘uncle’ as she dedicates an Om Shanti Om dialogue to Anant Ambani. Watch

Radhika Merchant dedicated a dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om to Anant Ambani during their pre-wedding festivities.

Shah Rukh Khan recently attended Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities and was a host of one of the events. The event saw Shah Rukh Khan talking to Anant and Radhika as they spoke about their love for each other. In a video doing the rounds of the internet, Radhika can be seen interacting with Shah Rukh, who she calls ‘uncle’ on stage.

The video begins with Radhika saying, “Shah Rukh uncle…” She then adds, “Because you are here, aaj aapki film ka ek dialogue bol deti hun (I’ll say a dialogue from your film).” Shah Rukh then jokes and says, “Agar Akshay hota toh Akshay Kumar ki film ka bolti (If Akshay was here, then you would have said a dialogue from his film).” He then adds, “Akki aise hi pyaar se bol raha hun (Akki, I’m saying this with love).”

Radhika then says one of SRK’s most iconic dialogues, “Jitni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, zarre zarre ne mujhe tumse milaane ki koshi ki hai.” As the crowd cheers for the couple, Shah Rukh applauds them too and starts the chant, “Hug hug!” Anant leans in for a hug but Radhika, who looks a little awkward, and Anant kisses her on the cheek.

Anant and Radhika’s three-day pre-wedding festivities were held in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The first day of the festivities saw international popstar Rihanna take the stage. This was Rihanna’s first concert in over seven years. The next day’s festivities saw Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan take the stage. Diljit Dosanjh also performed on this day. The third day saw celebrities like Akon performing with Sukhbir.

In an earlier chat with Vogue, Radhika said that they chose Jamnagar as the venue as they believe it to be their “karma bhoomi” and because this is the birth place of Anant’s grandmother Kokilaben, they have an emotional connect with the city. She also shared that the three-day festivities were planned by Nita Ambani and designer Manish Malhotra in just three months.
