Priyanka Chopra’s manager Anjula Acharia says ‘naysayers are just noise’ after actor’s comments about being ‘cornered’ in Bollywood

Priyanka opened up in a recent podcast about being “cornered” in Bollywood and feeling tired of the politics in the Hindi film industry. She also suggested that she wasn’t being cast in movies as she had some “beef” with people in the industry. The actor was talking to Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert. Priyanka had also credited Anjula for coming to her rescue. She had shared how Anjula had seen her in a music video and connected with her to ask if she would be interested in building a career as a music artiste in the US.

A year ago, Anjula had revealed that she was discouraged to invest in Priyanka. Speaking with Forbes, Anjula had said that there was a lot of ‘negativity’ surrounding Priyanka when they started working together, and the majority of it came from India. Anjula revealed that important film industry people warned her not to work with Priyanka, and told her, “She is never going to work, I don’t know why you are wasting your time.”

Anjula has been with Priyanka ever since she left India to go to the US and live the American dream. Priyanka and Anjula were also together at the South Asian Excellence at The Oscars 2023.
