The Great Indian Kapil Show episode will air on August 23 on Netflix.
The Great Indian Kapil Show is all set to host BOAT’s Aman Gupta, MamaEarth’s Ghazal Alagh, OYO’s Ritesh Agarwal, and Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma in the show’s upcoming episode on Saturday. Ahead of the episode, the makers of the comedy show gave a glimpse of the fun banter between the guest and characters of the show.
In the promo, Kapil Sharma kickstarted the banter with his trademark humor about startups: “The older generation doesn’t understand startups. If their son says, ‘Dad, I have started my own company and secured Rs 50 lakh funding,’ the father thinks, ‘No one lends my son even Rs 100, and now someone has given him Rs 50 lakh?’” The joke leaves everyone in splits.
When the guests arrived, Kapil teased them by saying: “All of you had the same idea to become famous in 192 countries—let’s go on Kapil’s show.”
The conversation then turned to Ghazal Alagh, whose brand MamaEarth has Shilpa Shetty as its ambassador. Kapil quipped, “Since you make baby products, was bringing Shilpa Shetty on board a strategy so that dads would be the buyers?”
Ritesh Agarwal followed with a story from OYO’s early days: “When I first approached a hotelier, people couldn’t even pronounce OYO. One of them, named Rajesh, kept calling it ‘YoYo.’” To this, Kapil said, “Careful, Honey Singh might ask for his share!”
Meanwhile, Aman Gupta thanked Archana Puran Singh for unintentionally contributing to BOAT’s R&D. “Archana ji, your laughter has been part of our noise-cancellation testing in the factory.”
The audience also joined in on the fun. One woman shared her “startup idea”: a gadget to keep track of her husband. Kapil instantly retorted, “Just take Ritesh’s number. If your husband ever goes to his hotel, he’ll inform you directly.”
Later, Kapil Sharma turned to Vijay Shekhar Sharma with a serious-sounding question. “Vijay bhai, how much money do you think one needs to live a good life?” The Paytm founder calmly replied, “Not more than Rs 1–2 lakh.” Kapil shot back, “Why don’t you keep that much and send the rest to us through Paytm?”
