Param Sundari vs Saiyaara

Thanks to the star power of Janhvi and Sidharth, Param Sundari was projected as the biggest romantic film of the year. However, the release and massive success of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara changed the game. The film, starring two newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, became a surprise hit and the second highest earner of the year, leaving Janhvi and Sidharth’s film to compete with it.

At the box office, Param Sundari is lagging far behind Saiyaara. Within just three days of release, the Mohit Suri directorial had collected Rs 83.25 crore, while Param Sundari managed only Rs 26.75 crore in the same period.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan’s film War 2, now in its third week, continues to mint money at the box office. It added another Rs 1.50 crore on Sunday, taking its domestic collection to Rs 234.55 crore. Going ahead, Param Sundari will soon face fresh competition as Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt’s Baaghi 4 gears up for release on September 5.
