“Bombay mein ek chota sa gaon khoj raha tha mein, toh ye chota sa gaon hai (I was searching for a small village in Mumbai, so this is my small village)” – this is how Pankaj Tripathi introduced his holiday home in Mumbai. The acclaimed actor recently provided a tour of his bungalow on the YouTube channel Mashable India, showcasing the distinctive artefacts and village-like ambiance of his house.

The tour commenced with Pankaj displaying two remarkable artefacts: a one-horned rhino and a tusker, both received as gifts from the Divisional Forest Officer of Kaziranga National Park. He then highlighted a beautifully handcrafted rosewood dining table created by artisans from Mysore.

Pankaj Tripathi also offered a glimpse of his kitchen, where he revealed a unique tradition of making pakodas and passing them through a vast window into the garden. He expressed his preference for drinking water from a clay pot and avoiding refrigerated water.

The actor led viewers through the sprawling garden of his home, which boasts various trees, including mango and kathal. He shared that he enjoys bird watching and playing football with his daughter in this serene outdoor space.

Later, Pankaj revealed a mud chulha (stove) where they prepare meals, whenever they want to relish the authentic flavours of their village. He emphasised that dishes cooked on the mud chulha are truly fantastic. The actor also shared that the name of his house is Roop Katha, which means fairytale.

Pankaj Tripathi is currently savouring the success of OMG 2, where he plays the lead role. The actor also won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film Mimi. Pankaj has a few exciting projects lined-up, including his iconic role as Panditji in Fukrey 3. He will portray former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Main Atal Hoon. He is also a part of Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2.
