Pankaj Dheer’s daughter-in-law Kratika Sengar pens heartfelt note: ‘You weren’t my father-in-law; you were my dad, friend, safe place’

Actor Pankaj Dheer’s demise has left his family and fans heartbroken. Days after his son Nikitin Dheer remembered him, his daughter-in-law and actor Kratika Sengar Dheer took to social media to pen a heartfelt note for her late father-in-law.

Sharing an old picture with him, Kratika recalled how Pankaj Dheer never liked the term “in-law,” always treating her like his own daughter. In her emotional tribute, she wrote about their deep bond, endless conversations, and his love for her daughter, Devika, who fondly called him “Daadu.”

Sharing an old photo with Pankaj Dheer, Kratika wrote, “You never liked the word in-laws — you’d always say, “She’s my daughter,” and that’s exactly how you treated me. You’d often ask with that familiar twinkle in your eyes, “Who’s the best girl in the world?” and I’d smile and say, “Mee!” I was always shy to say I love you dad, but you never stopped until I said it with ease — that was your way of wrapping me in love.”

Kratika added, “You weren’t just my father-in-law; you were my Dad, my friend, my safe place. We’d talk for hours about everything and nothing, and now the silence feels so heavy without you. Thankyou for loving Devika the way you did- she will always remember you as her Bestest DAADU. I LOVE YOU DAD 🙏🌸.”

The post received overwhelming love from fans, who praised the heartfelt words and remembered Pankaj Dheer for his warmth and legacy.

Best known for his iconic portrayal of Karna in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, Pankaj Dheer passed away on October 15 at the age of 68 after battling cancer. He is survived by his wife Anita Dheer, son Nikitin Dheer, daughter-in-law Kratika Sengar, and granddaughter Devika.

Over the years, Dheer appeared in several successful television shows such as Chandrakanta, Badho Bahu, Zee Horror Show, Kanoon, and Sasural Simar Ka. He was also a part of films like Soldier, Andaz, Baadshah, and Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.

Pankaj Dheer’s last rites was attended by several celebrities, including Salman Khan, Hema Malini, Kushal Tandon, Mukesh Rishi, Sidharth Malhotra, Dipika Kakar, and Shoaib Ibrahim, among others.
