Actor Palak Tiwari, who will soon make her debut with the film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, said that she knows perfectly well that nobody is going to watch the movie because she’s in it. The film is the latest Salman Khan vehicle, and also features Venkatesh Daggubati in a supporting role and Ram Charan in a special song appearance. With such major stars at the front and centre of the project, Palak, and the film’s supporting cast, did not receive much screen time in the recently-released trailer.

In an interview with Connect FM Canada, Palak was asked about her absence in the trailer, and if that bothered her. She said that she isn’t under any delusions that the audience for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is desperate to see her, and went so far as to say that her being in the film or not doesn’t matter.

She said, “With this movie, I was just happy to be there. If I’m being very frank, with this movie, mujhe pata tha mujhe dekhne koi nahi aa raha hai (nobody is going to watch this movie because of me). Mera hona ya na hona koi difference nahi bana raha (me being in the movie makes no difference), in the sense, it is a Salman Khan film. And he said from the start, and this is true, the casting in this movie has been done because we really do fit these characters. For the first time in my life, as a budding actor, it was tough, but this is the most selfless I have been. I’ve just wanted to contribute to the movie, instead of thinking how I can stand out. All of our goals was to fit in and blend in seamlessly…”

Palak also agreed that the conversations around her personal life are getting out of hand, and said, “I’m at that point in life where I’m just so excited that I’m living my dream life, I’m getting to persue the career I’ve wanted to my whole life. All of this is so mundane to me, it seems so asinine.”

Directed by Farhad Samji, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also features Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal, Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika Chawla, Vijender Singh, Jassie Gill, and Vinali Bhatnagar. The film will be released in theatres on Friday, April 21.
