Pakistani actor Adnani Siddiqui slams Kriti Sanon’s Do Patti song ‘Akhiyaan De Kol’ for plagiarism, calls it a ‘sordid spinoff’
The song "Akhiyaan De Kol" from the upcoming film Do Patti, starring Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Shaheer Sheikh, and Tanvi Azmi, is sung by Shilpa Rao, and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. It is written by Kausar Munir.

Kriti Sanon is gearing up for the release of her next film, Do Patti, which marks several milestones. Not only does it introduce TV actor Shaheer Sheikh to the feature film space, but it also marks Kriti’s debut as a producer and her first dual role. Additionally, Kajol will be seen playing a cop for the first time. Despite being an OTT release, Do Patti has been heavily promoted, with the trailer and songs generating significant buzz.
However, the latest song, “Akhiyaan De Kol”, has drawn criticism. The remix version of the classic Pakistani folk song features Kriti Sanon in a red leather bodysuit, dancing to fast-paced beats. Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui expressed his disappointment on X, stating:
“Imitation can be flattering, but not when it means tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma jee and the legacy she left behind. Her music deserves to be treated with the dignity it commands, not reduced to just another sordid ripoff..”

The release of “Akhiyaan De Kol” has ignited a discussion on cultural sensitivity and the significance of preserving artistic heritage. Although Reshma’s timeless classic has been reinterpreted by various artists, including Quratulain Baloch, in the past, the latest adaptation has drawn criticism for its creative liberties.
Netizens from all over the world collectively joined Adnan’s observations and expressed their dismay as they responded to his post on X. One person responded by writing, “Thank you for saying this. What an obscene way to honour the legend that Reshma ji is. Thank you 🌟.” Another person wrote, “Music will never be heard by those who are not dancing.” Another person spoke up in Do Patti’s defense, writing, “Then please don’t sell your songs to Indian labels or specify in your contracts that these songs will not be played in Indian movies.”
