Neil Nitin Mukesh, who has not appeared in any Hindi film since the 2019 release Saaho, recently opened up about the supposed argument he had with Shah Rukh Khana few years ago at an award function. In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Neil laughed at the incident and said that this was “never meant to be an insult” and added that he has a lot of love for Shah Rukh Khan.Speaking about that bit on the stage, Neil said, “He was having fun, I was having fun with him. He knows this and I know this too.” He shared that Shah Rukh had given him a heads up about the bit but he wasn’t fully aware of what was coming.

When asked if the bit was scripted, the New York actor said, “If you say so, I’ll believe it. If you want to call it scripted, let it be, but there was love.” Neil said that Shah Rukh wasn’t upset with him after he asked him to shut up. “He only told me that I’ll have some fun with this. But there was also a pre-warning from him saying that I will have fun with you, you do your thing. So I asked ‘sir, what level of fun are we talking about?’ He said, ‘whatever you can think of, do it.’ He gave me that liberty so I did it,” he shared.
