Nawazuddin Siddiqui has consistently discussed his personal life, including his struggles, relationships with co-stars and family members, and his unique perspective on various topics. In similar fashion, the actor recently talked about his tumultuous relationship with his father and claimed that his father was a big liar who used to falsely portray his status in society. Nawaz shared that whenever his father used to travel to New Delhi, he would come back with stories of how he met Amitabh Bachchan and visited the Parliament building. While appearing on Pinkvilla's YouTube channel, the Raman-Raghav actor talked about his younger days when he used to pretend to be a blind man to buy groceries at a cheaper rate. He credited his skill as a liar to his father, who he claims was "a big liar" and would tell them tall tales of his connections in society. "He used to go to Delhi quite often, and on his return, we would ask him about the places he visited and the people he met. He would say, 'I went to the parliament and met many politicians and leaders. I even met Amitabh Bachchan, and I told him that it seems he isn't taking his health very seriously and he should try doing some exercise'." The actor then convinced his father to take him along during his next trip to Delhi, and Nawaz shared that it was this outing with his father which broke the entire illusion. "I told him to take me along, and while we were on our way, the bus had stopped at a small restaurant. My father and the server got into a verbal scuffle over money, and there I saw my father being unable to stand up to him. From that point onwards, my doubts regarding his stories grew," added Nawaz. The actor added that when his belief in his father broke, he was completely shattered, and I realised that my father has no real agency or standing in society. He admitted that this episode in his life motivated him to do better than his father and become a man who actually visits new places and meets big people. Nawaz was last seen in his OTT film Costao, which is streaming on Zee5.
