Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Wednesday launched the trailer of his upcoming film Tiku Weds Sheru in Mumbai along with the film’s producer Kangana Ranaut and his co-actor Avneet Kaur.
At the trailer launch event, Nawazuddin remembered the phase in his career where he used to be a junior artiste. Nawaz shared that when he was a junior actor in a film, a make-up man blew talcum powder on his face as make-up.
Nawaz shared, “Right now, while getting my make-up done, I was thinking about this one time when I was working as a junior artiste in a film along with other junior actors. A make-up man who was supposed to do our make-up for the scene made us all stand in a queue and blew (talcum) powder on our faces and said ‘make-up’ is done.”
In Tiku Weds Sheru, Sheru, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, works as a junior artiste in films. Nawazuddin shared that he loved this character because he is a junior artiste but has big dreams, and that reminded him of his earlier days in the industry.
He shared yet another anecdote from his early days in the film industry. “I had done several roles as a junior actor, as an extra on set. After some years I got to do a film as a lead actor, Miss Lovely. A lot of my old friends were working on that film. They didn’t know I was doing the main lead in that film and asked me, ‘Arre, tu yahaan kya kar raha hai?’ So I told them that I am the lead in the film and not to tell anyone that I have worked with you guys (laughs). There used to be many such incidents.”
Tiku Weds Sheru, also starring social media sensation Avneet Kaur, will stream on Amazon Prime Video from June 23
