Kalki Koechlin: Marriage is not necessary for a long-term, committed relationship

Kalki Koechlin, who was earlier married to director Anurag Kashyap, feels marriage is not a necessity if one is in a committed relationship.

I don’t think it is necessary for a long-term, committed relationship.”

Kalki Koechlin is not a great believer of the institution of marriage anymore. The actress, who was earlier married to director Anurag Kashyap, feels marriage is not a necessity if one is in a committed relationship.

Talking to IndianExpress.com, Kalki said, “I think it works for some people. I don’t think it is necessary for a long-term, committed relationship. I don’t think it is a must but, yes, it can work.”

When asked if she would ever like to give marriage another shot, Kalki said, “Never say never. I might, but only if it really meant something for the other person. For myself, it doesn’t matter.”

So is there an other person in her life right now, we quizzed. “No comments,” replied a smiling Kalki.

Grapevine was abuzz recently with rumours of the Waiting actress having moved in with actor Jim Sarbh of Neerja fame. Kalki, however, doesn’t find it necessary to comment on matters pertaining to her personal life, rumours or otherwise. “I will not comment about my personal life,” was her polite response when quizzed.
