(Pic: Malavika, Pooja Dadlani/Instagram)Actor Malavika Mohanan recently shared her experience of meeting her idol, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time. In an interview, the Master actor revealed that while she had been excited for years about the chance to meet SRK, she was so overwhelmed by the moment that she couldn’t even stand up from her seat when it finally happened, leaving her completely “starstruck”.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Malavika explained that despite being the daughter of well-known cinematographer K.U. Mohanan, her family kept her somewhat away from the glamour of the film industry. Growing up, their discussions at home were more centered around literature and foreign films rather than Bollywood. However, she has always been a huge fan of Shah Rukh, and her dream came true when her father took her and the rest of their family to meet SRK on the sets of Don. The actor said, “My dad was working on Don. We went to Film City in Mumbai, where the film was being shot.”
She continued, “It was midnight, and my brother and I were very sleepy. We waited for the shot to finish. After an hour, someone said ‘Hi’ to me, and it was Shah Rukh sir. I was so nervous and overwhelmed that I couldn’t get up from my chair and just managed to say, ‘Hello.’ I was completely starstruck. He even asked, ‘How are you?’ and other pleasantries. Later, my parents scolded me, saying, ‘Shah Rukh came to greet you, and you couldn’t even get up from your chair. That’s so rude.’ But I explained it wasn’t rudeness—my legs just wouldn’t work at that moment! I am a huge Shah Rukh fan.”
Malavika Mohanan, who has primarily worked in South Indian cinema, was last seen in the Tamil film Thangalaan. She recently made her Hindi film debut with Yudhra, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead role. She has the Tamil film Sardar 2 and the Telugu film The Raja Saab in her kitty.
