Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who is currently in Goa for the 54th International Film Festival of India, has opened up about how Tamannaah Bhatia has yet to get her due in the industry. Bhandarkar also spoke about his film India Lockdown and said that his team was not keen on casting Prateik Babbar. In a conversation with Taran Adarsh, the filmmaker spoke about the movie Babli Bouncer and said, “I feel happy for Tamannaah Bhatia. I feel Tamannaah Bhatia is a very talented actress, but she has not got her due. She has worked in the South. Absolutely good looking, very talented person. I think Babli Bouncer changed her graph.” Further talking about the film India Lockdown and its casting, Madhur Bhandarkar revealed that his team was doubtful about Prateik Babbar playing the role of a migrant worker. He said, “My writing team was very apprehensive about casting Prateik Babbar. They were like how will Prateik Babbar fit in the role of a migrant.” Bhandarkar added that he told the makeup artist to completely transform the actor. He said, “When I called Prateik to my office, he had tattoos all over his body and for a film, he had done all his hair blue, like a punk. I had a conviction and I narrated the film to Prateik and he said, 'Are you calling me for this role? Do you think I will be able to do it?' I said, 'Yes, I think you can do it.'” The film India Lockdown was released on ZEE5. It also starred Shweta Basu, Aahana Kumra and Sai Tamhankar in pivotal roles.
