He said, “My writing team was very apprehensive about casting Prateik Babbar. They were like how will Prateik Babbar fit in the role of a migrant.”

Bhandarkar added that he told the makeup artist to completely transform the actor. He said, “When I called Prateik to my office, he had tattoos all over his body and for a film, he had done all his hair blue, like a punk. I had a conviction and I narrated the film to Prateik and he said, ‘Are you calling me for this role? Do you think I will be able to do it?’ I said, ‘Yes, I think you can do it.’”

The film India Lockdown was released on ZEE5. It also starred Shweta Basu, Aahana Kumra and Sai Tamhankar in pivotal roles.
