Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 to feature trans woman Bonita Rajpurohit in lead role; actor opens up about her struggles: ‘I used to earn just Rs 10k’

Helmed by Dibakar Banerjee, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 will release on April 19th. In the film, Bonita plays a trans actor who participates in a reality show.

Producer Ektaa Kapoor and filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee are currently gearing up for the release of the film Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. The teaser for the movie has already been released, causing shockwaves with its brutally honest portrayal of the entertainment industry through the eyes of Kulu, the transgender protagonist. But who is playing Kulu? The makers have released a video featuring Bonita Rajpurohit (Kulu) and her untold story.

In the video, Bonita can be seen narrating her story. The actor, who hails from Rajasthan, said that she was a part of a production company. Bonita said that she used to earn just around Rs 10k to 15k every month, which was not enough to sustain.

Bonita mentioned, “My biggest motivation is seeing women like me on screen. To see the trans representation on screen. I never thought I would land an acting role and that I would get to play a lead in a Bollywood film. So, some dreams just come true.” Dibakar mentored Bonita in acting and he said, “Bonita gave the best.”

Sharing the video, they wrote, “Sapno ke shehar mein (In the city of dreams), Kulu found her calling. Meet KULU, our first lead of #LoveSexAurDhokha2, in cinemas on 19th April.” In the film, Bonita plays a trans actor who participates in a reality show.

The upcoming film also stars Anu Malik, Tushar Kapoor, Sophie Choudry, Mouni Roy and others in cameo roles. The film will be released in theatres on April 19th.
