Actor Kriti Sanon on Tuesday said her Adipurush costar Prabhas is a “simple” man who speaks straight “from the heart”, qualities which resonate with the role he is playing in the upcoming mythological epic— that of Lord Rama. The team of Adipurush on Tuesday launched the Hindi trailer of their ambitious film and the mood was divine. Launched amid fans chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, the event was attended by lead stars Prabhas, Kriti, Sunny Singh and filmmaker Om Raut.
At the event, Prabhas, who also enjoys a massive fan following in the Hindi belts following the grand success of Baahubali franchise, thanked the director for giving him the titular part. “Thank you Om for giving me this opportunity. We did this film with a lot of love and respect, hope you like it. Thank you, love you,” Prabhas said as fans started cheering for him.

To which Kriti said, “He’s as simple as Prabhu Ram I’d say. He’s so simple, so from the heart.” Big-screen adaptation of the epic Ramayana, Adipurush features Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita while Saif Ali Khan essays the role of Lankesh.
Kriti, for whom Adipurush would be the second theatrical release of the year, said witnessing the trailer on the big screen with media and fans was an “emotional” moment which left her with “goosebumps”. Kriti said Adipurush is “beyond” being just a film for the entire team.
“Thank you Om, for considering me to play Janaki, for having that faith in me. Because very few actors can get the opportunity to play a role like this in their lifetime. I feel extremely blessed. I’ve tried to play the part with utmost sincerity, belief and with respect. I had belief already, but during filming, it only increased because I kept understanding the part.”
Kriti said for her, Janaki is a combination of a “pure kind soul, loving heart and a strong mind.” The actor said her poster from the film, which was unveiled recently, accurately depicted her character— someone in waiting, facing hardship, but never in fear.
“Her belief that her Raghav would come… For me that was a big emotion. I’ve tried to give this my all, with complete sincerity. Baaki woh bhagwaan hai, hum insaan hai, agar kuch bhool chuk ho gayi ho toh please maaf kar di jiyega,” she added.
