Kiara Advani recalls how Sidharth Malhotra proposed to her in Rome: ‘After his speech, he started saying lines from Shershaah’

Kiara said that it was on the first day of their trip that Sidharth took her to a Michelin star restaurant in Rome. His little nephew was accompanying them, and was there to click pictures of their big moment. While Kiara was expecting a proposal at some point during the trip, she didn’t expect it to happen on the first day itself. “He planned the works. He had done this candlelight dinner. We go back after dinner, and he takes me up for a walk. We go up and suddenly the violinist comes out of the bushes playing and sweetly his little nephew is taking our video from behind the bushes. He then goes on one knee and proposes. I was not expecting it that night so I was so overwhelmed, I didn’t say anything,” she said.

Since Kiara did not say anything, Sidharth started reciting lines from his proposal scene in Shershaah. “After his whole speech, he doesn’t know what to say to me and he starts saying the lines of Shershaah. He’s like ‘Dilli ka seedha sada launda hun’, and what he said to me in the movie, the full dialogue of Shershaah. Then I burst out laughing,” she recalled. Kiara said that since his family was there, they got a chance to celebrate with them which she described as the “best part.” After this, they video-called Kiara’s parents, and Karan. When Karan asked if Kiara chose the ring, she laughed and said that she gave him hints.

Kiara and Sidharth starred together in Shershaah and chose a song from the film as their wedding song.
