Kapil, who saw the release of his film Zwigato on Friday, speaks about his persona in real-life, how Twitter caused an upheaval in his life and wife Ginni Chatrath.
Kareena addressed Kapil’s controversies on Twitter; the comedian has spoken in the past about a late-night tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi which was done when he was drunk. “Main kabhi Twitter wali chidiya se mila to nahi hun but inhone mere toote uda diya (I have never personally met the bird in Twitter sign but it messed up my life),” he told Kareena. He also answered the actor’s question whether he is romantic in his real life. Talking about his two children, Kapil joked, “Do bachche hain, hamane download thode hi kiye hai (I haven’t downloaded my two kids).”
He also mentioned how he was told he had an everyman face. “Pata nahi ye mere liye compliment hai but keheti hai tumhara mooh bada common hai (I don’t know if it is a compliment but I have been told you have a common face).”
Earlier, Kapil had joked about his drunk tweet to PM Narendra Modi on his Netflix special. He remembered how OB vans had lined up outside his house and he asked his cook, “Is there a fire?” His cook answered, “You set fire to Twitter last night.” Kapil explained his escape to the Maldives to get away from controversy. “I left for the Maldives instantly, I lived there for 8-9 days. The moment I reached Maldives, I asked them for a room with no internet. They asked, ‘Have you got married?’ I replied, ‘No, I just tweeted.’ My stay cost me Rs 9 lakhs, which I didn’t even spend on my education. That one line costed me that much,” he revealed, adding, “I want to sue Twitter.”
