Karan Johar has shown interest in launching Nysa Devgn, reveals Kajol: ‘1-2 phone aaye hain’
Kajol said that she has gotten a few calls from Karan Johar where he expressed his interest to launch her daughter in the movies.

The Indian entertainment industry is notorious for being forgiving towards star kids and in the last few years, the conversation about nepotism has escalated, since many star kids have not delivered strong performances in the movies, and have repeatedly starred in films with the top banners of the Hindi film industry. In a recent interview, Kajol was asked if directors from the film industry, most notably filmmaker Karan Johar, who is known to launch a lot of star kids, has thought about launching her kids in the movies.
In a chat with Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, during the promotions of The Trial Season 2, Kajol was asked if her children – daughter Nysa and son Yug – were being approached for films, or if she and Ajay Devgn were planning to launch them in the movies. Kajol was talking about the decision making skills of her kids when the interviewer asked if Karan Johar had called to find out, “Bachche ready hain? (Are the kids ready?)”
Kajol laughed as she heard the question and said, “1-2 phone aaye hain (I have gotten a couple of calls).” She addded, “But, I think, currently, my daughter is definitely not coming into movies and if she wants to do whatever she wants to do, she will tell us and we are with her 100 percent, whatever she wants to do.”
Even since Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar the “flagbearer of nepotism” during a Koffee with Karan episode in 2017, Karan has not been able to get rid of the tag. In the last few years, he has given a platform to Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Ibrahim Ali Khan, among many others.
Kajol and Ajay Devgn have previously stated that their daughter Nysa has no plans to pursue a career in acting. Meanwhile, their 15-year-old son Yug recently took on his first project, dubbing alongside his father for the Hindi version of Karate Kid Legends.
