Kangana Ranaut is actively promoting her upcoming film Emergency and recently made an appearance on Salman Khan's reality show, Bigg Boss 18. On the show, she participated in a task and shared her candid thoughts about the contestants, accusing them of creating unnecessary drama. After exiting the Bigg Boss house, Kangana interacted with the paparazzi, who asked about her experience in the house. “Emergency task hua ki nahi? (Did you perform the Emergency task?)," photographers asked. Responding to their queries, she said, “Bade naatak kiye inn logon ne. Bade utpaat machaaye (They created a big drama. Kangana's Emergency is finally set to hit theaters on January 17 after facing several delays. Originally planned for a November 2023 release, the film's debut was pushed to June 2024, then to September 6, 2024, and was further postponed due to a pending CBFC certification. On October 17, Kangana confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the censor board had green-lit the film. The movie had faced backlash from Sikh community who raised concern about its content. A biographical drama on Indira Gandhi, Emergency marks Kangana Ranaut's efforts as writer, director, and co-producer. The movie explores the 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency, a painful chapter in India's history.
