Kangana Ranaut reveals why she praised Deepika Padukone’s Oscars appearance: ‘I follow Krishna, Dharma’
As people were taken by surprise over Kangana Ranaut's appreciation for Deepika Padukone, the Queen actor clarified that she has always believed in crediting the deserving.

Kangana Ranaut was among the many celebrities who hailed Deepika Padukone’s graceful appearance on the Oscars stage. Her words of appreciation took many by surprise as Kangana has been a vociferous critic of Deepika, even commenting on the Pathaan actor’s battle with depression and her foundation to aid mental health issues in India.
Talking about Deepika’s Oscar appearance, the Queen actor took to Twitter and wrote that it is “not easy” to stand at such a prestigious podium, “holding entire nation together.”
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the actor reacted to all the noise around her comments for Deepika. She mentioned how crediting undeserving people is wrong but it’s a bigger issue when deserving people are not praised. Kangana mentioned that while ‘Bollywoodias’ may be doing it, she follows Krishna’s values. Asking people to not overthink, she wrote, “All those acting shocked that I praised DP,don’t overthink,I am a very simple person I just follow Krishna/Dharma n he says kisi ko undeserving credit dena anachar hai lekin kisi ko deserving credit na dena usse bada anachar/paap hai,bollywoodias may have failed but I haven’t.”

Deepika Padukone took to the Oscar stage to introduce Naatu Naatu, leading to the live performance of the RRR song. Her gorgeous look, infectious smile and her pride while talking about the film and the song left many impressed. Kangana too praised her by penning, “How beautiful @deepikapadukone looks, not easy to stand there holding entire nation together, carrying its image, reputation on those delicate shoulders and speaking so graciously and confidently. Deepika stands tall as a testimony to the fact that Indian women are the best ”
RRR song “Naatu Naatu” later won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Composed by MM Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the song became massively popular soon after its release in March 2022.
