Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut recently reacted to the Kapoor family’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite him to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival, organized to celebrate the legendary actor-filmmaker’s 100th birth anniversary. Kangana welcomed the initiative and expressed her support for PM Modi’s engagement with the film industry, calling it an important step. She also highlighted the challenges faced by the industry, stating that it lacks direction and needs proper guidance.

Speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak, Kangana was asked about her thoughts on the PM meeting the Kapoor family, while she herself has been waiting for an audience with him. In response, she said, “I think our film industry needs guidance. This is soft power and it is underutilized. Today, be it PM Modi or our other guides or Information Broadcast Ministry or other programs, I have also been a part of the industry for 20 years. I think this industry is completely orphaned. Because they do not have guidance. Whether it is Jihadi agenda or Palestinian agenda, anyone can capture them. They have no guidance at all, they do not know where to go.”

Kangana Ranaut emphasized that individuals in the film industry are often vulnerable and easily lured into questionable activities, which can tarnish their reputation. She said, “They gave them some money and made them do anything anywhere. Dawood takes them to his parties. They often become targets of hawala and drugs. They are very vulnerable. They are given responsibilities. They are allowed to meet. They also feel that yes, we meet the Prime Minister. He looks after our work. He thinks about us. Such things don’t happen there. They feel that they can do anything. They will go and dance at gangsters’ parties. They feel that no one is watching them,” she said.

The actor added, “It is a very good step that they are looking at the mainstream. We do not get the same treatment as other industries. We make so many films, generate so much revenue. To be factual, yes, I have requested to meet PM Modi ji. I hope one day he will call me and I will meet him.”

The Kapoor family met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 10 to personally invite him to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival. Among those present were Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Sahni, and other members of the family.
