Kalki Koechlin says she is at ‘ease’ with former husband Anurag Kashyap after being ‘through so much together’

Former couple Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap are “good now” and share a friendly equation. After their divorce in 2015, they have worked together in Sacred Games 2 and now, Anurag is co-producing Kalki’s upcoming English-language film Goldfish.

In a recent interview with India Today, Kalki shared how after going through so much in life, she and Anurag are at “ease”. She said, “I’m very much at ease now (with Anurag). We’ve been through so much together, and so much apart. We’ve reached a place of peace between us.”

She revealed that though Anurag wasn’t involved in her upcoming film Goldfish, he came on board after watching it at the Busan International Film Festival. “He saw the film in Busan, loved it, and was really supportive about it. And we’re really glad to have him on board. So yeah, we’re good now,” said Kalki.

‘He is a good friend’

Asked if he is a better friend or filmmaker, Kalki replied, “We are genuinely friends now, and he is going to love cinema always, but he is a good friend.”

Kalki recently attended the engagement ceremony of Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap. Aaliyah and Shane Gregoire celebrated their engagement a few weeks ago, and Kalki went there with her boyfriend, and daughter Sappho, who took over the dance floor and became the centre of attraction.

Talking about her equation with Aaliyah, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor said, “Aaliyah is very cute with my daughter. They really have kind of a playful thing. So basically, my daughter thinks Aaliyah is a real princess. So she’s in awe of her. It’s good to have one more babysitter around.”

Anurag Kashyap was previously married to Aarti Bajaj from 1997 to 2009, and later to Kalki from 2011 to 2015.
