Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD released in theatres on Thursday and as per industry tracker Sacnilk, the Nag Ashwin film has had a strong opening at the box office. In India, the film is currently tracking at Rs 55 crore gross as per advance booking reports but the number is expected to go higher as the day progresses. Globally, it is estimated that Kalki 2898 AD will bring in Rs 200 crore gross. Out of the Rs 55 crore in India, Rs 44 crore have come in from the Telugu version of the film, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Kalki 2898 AD has also released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The occupancy is the highest in Telangana at 73 percent with 2,586 shows in the state, out of which 1871 are almost full. This is followed by Andhra Pradesh where the occupancy is at 64 percent with 3,188 shows in the state, out of which 2,100 shows are almost full. In Hindi, the figure stands at around Rs 8.6 crore. In Delhi, the occupancy is at 14 percent with 1,322 shows, out of which only 72 are full. In Maharashtra, there are 2,836 shows, out of which only 143 are full. The occupancy in the state is also around 14 percent. While the gross figure in India is at around Rs 55 crore, the nett collection of the film is around Rs 21.17 crore. As per reports, the film has earned $3.08 million in pre-sales in North America, which is around Rs 31 crore. So far, SS Rajamouli's RRR has been the biggest opener as it made Rs 223 crore on its opening day. Baahubali 2, which also starred Prabhas, made Rs 217 crore. Yash's KGF 2 made Rs 159 crore. Prabhas' Salaar, which release in 2023, made Rs 158 crore. Vijay-starrer Leo made Rs 142.75 crore on its opening day worldwide. Kalki 2898 AD also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachcan and Kamal Haasan. The film also has cameo appearances by Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salmaan.
