Janhvi Kapoor has tried her hand at stand-up comedy and in a latest video, the actor flexed her comic muscles as she tried to educate her audience about HPV and its vaccination. Janhvi started her video with a joke saying that HPV wasn’t the name of some SS Rajamouli movie, but a virus that could lead to cervical cancer.

Janhvi also made some jokes about the audience being unkind towards her acting in her debut film as she introduced herself as an “aspiring comedian and aspiring actor.” Janhvi then switched gears and talked about HPV, telling her audience to get vaccinated. She also brought in timeless jodis like “Shah Rukh-Kajol, Shah Rukh and Rs 1000 crore films and idli-sambar” as she spoke about the virus. The video has been shared by the social media handles of ‘I Pledge To Prevent’ and the Serum Institute India has supported the project.

Recently, actor Poonam Pandey spread fake news about her death due to cervical cancer and later declared that this was a stunt to create awareness about the disease.

Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s 2023 film Bawaal, also starring Varun Dhawan. She will be seen with Varun again in Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. She also has Mr & Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao in the pipeline. Janhvi is also starring with Jr NTR in Devara, which is being primarily made in Telugu.

In a recent interview, Janhvi spoke about five-year acting journey and reflected on her education as an actor. In this chat with The Week, the actor shared that she “learnt nothing” during her time in Los Angeles’ Lee Strasberg Institute and expressed that she should have spent that time learning about her culture and language in India.

“I wish I could have used that time getting to know my people and my country and my language a little better because I am telling the stories of my people, not of them,” she said and added, “I just wish I did more things that would make me relate to my people and I did. Once I started shooting for Dhadak, I made a 180 and I realised that the only thing that matters is, I want to tell stories of my country, I want to know the people of my country, I want to be able to speak to them, I want to be able to think like them, feel like them and sitting in LA, going to Malibu on the weekend isn’t going to cut it. It just makes you so detached and jaded.”
