Shalini Passi, the newest member of Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, quickly became a fan favourite after the latest season dropped on the platform. Married to business tycoon Sanjay Passi, Chairman of the Pasco Group, Shalini describes herself as an artist who has “always had an eye for art, for meaningful objects.” Recently, the Delhi socialite opened up about her two-decade journey of collecting art and how her 20,000-square-foot palatial home, with 14 rooms in Delhi’s upscale Golf Links neighbourhood, houses many exquisite artworks.

In an interview with Architectural Digest, Shalini described her home as a “sweeping curve of a home,” distinct in design and shape, with a curved structure overlooking a manicured lawn. One of the most striking features of the lawn is a towering 25-foot Buddha sculpture, crafted by renowned artist Subodh Gupta. Shalini and Sanjay’s son, Robin, often shares photos of his workouts on the lawn, with the Buddha sculpture in the background.

Their home is an ode to art, with sculptures, paintings, and installations adorning every corner of the lavish residence. Even the furniture pieces are works of art that Shalini has collected over the years. Her collection is a blend of Indian Modern and Contemporary works, which she describes as “eclectic but very personal.” She frequently shares photos of herself posing with the art inside her home.

Calling art her obsession, Shalini told Architectural Digest, “I was and always will be obsessive; if I see something beautiful or interesting, I make a note of it, I research it endlessly. I go to museums, scour antique shops, look at fabric, feel the textures of stone, and seek the provenance, and the beauty of an object. One should have an eye for refinement.”

The different rooms in Shalini’s home reflect her varied approach to art. One room is fully carpeted with Persian rugs, blending luxury and comfort, while another evokes the charm of an English cottage. A curved wall in the house is adorned with gold-rimmed mirrors, a favorite corner where Shalini is often seen posing. She also showcased her collection of Jeff Koons porcelain Puppy vases on Instagram.

Despite her extensive travels, Shalini emphasized how her Delhi home remains her sanctuary. She shared, “I have collected things that allow me to connect with the artist; this is a very personal collection. It allows a certain amount of escape from the thrust of daily life. I travel extensively, but Delhi is home to me; I love the seasons, the culture, family, and of course, all this art.”
