After collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan on three films, acclaimed filmmaker Shoojit Sircar is now set to work with the megastar’s son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, for his next project. The Bluffmaster actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the upcoming film, titled I Want To Talk. Along with the announcement, he shared a teaser, offering a glimpse into his character, a man who ‘lives to talk.’ The film will release in theatres on November 22.
The brief teaser features a bobblehead resembling Abhishek’s face, placed on the dashboard of a moving car. The bobblehead is dressed only in khaki shorts and black shoes. As we focus on the bobblehead, Abhishek’s voice narrates in the background, “I don’t just love to talk, I live to talk. I see only this basic difference between life and death. Those who are alive can speak; those who are dead can’t.”
Shoojit Sircar, known for critically acclaimed films such as Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, and October, has previously directed Amitabh Bachchan in three highly praised projects, Pink, Piku, and Gulabo Sitabo. His last directorial venture, Sardar Udham (2021), starring Vicky Kaushal, received moderate success at the box office.
For Abhishek Bachchan, I Want To Talk is a crucial film, especially as his recent releases – Bob Biswas, The Big Bull, Dasvi, and Ghoomer – struggled to make a significant impact at the box office. This new collaboration with Sircar comes at a pivotal moment in his career. Apart from I Want To Talk, Abhishek has a few other projects lined up, including the multi-starrer comedy Housefull 5 and Be Happy, directed by Remo D’Souza.
