Hrithik Roshan reviews Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel: ‘You have killed it this time too’

Actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Hrithik Roshan have worked together in multiple films together (read Agneepath, Krrish and Krrish 3). The two are said to be good friends and often support each other’s work via social media.

Recently, Hrithik Roshan took to his Instagram handle to share a note post watching Priyanka’s latest outing, the Amazon Prime series Citadel, co-starring Richard Madden. Heaping praise on the show, Roshan wrote, “Watching Priyanka in Citadel is such a fantastic surprise! Brilliant Work! Also, incredibly entertaining show! Excellent direction and screenplay! PC you have killed it this time too good!! Very proud.” The global icon responded to the post and wrote back, “Thanks my friend.”

Despite its big budget and famous collaborators like the Russo Brothers, Citadel largely received a negative response from viewers. Indianexpress.com’s Rohan Naahar called the show ‘generic and uninspiring’: “Another example of Richard Madden sabotaging his own chances of playing James Bond — one character at a time, the Russo brothers ruining every last ounce of goodwill they earned through their Marvel movies, and Amazon diligently overspending on clearly cursed material, Citadel is a $300 million misfire that plays like something out of a ChatGPT prompt.”

Despite the underwhelming reaction, makers have already rolled out a second season of the series, with its Indian and Italian counterparts already in production. The Indian version stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan in the lead, and is being helmed by Raj and DK, of The Family Man fame.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is looking forward to filming the Bollywood movie Jee Le Zaraa, directed by Farhan Akhtar. The film will also star Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the romantic comedy Love Again.
