Gulshan Devaiah recounts spending ‘three excruciating hours’ inside Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat, reveals main entrance is ‘just for show’
Gulshan Devaiah recalled visiting Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai mansion Mannat, and revealed that there is a large marble statue of Radha Krishna that he was quite impressed by.

Actor Gulshan Devaiah recalled spending an ‘excruciating’ few hours at Shah Rukh Khan‘s Mumbai mansion Mannat, back when he wasn’t as established an actor. In an interview, Gulshan said that Shah Rukh has the ability to sustain a high level of energy for the entire day, and that very few people can do that.
Appearing on the IVM Pop podcast, Gulshan described Shah Rukh’s famous house, and admitted that he was very nervous being there because he wasn’t sure if he fit in. He said, “I’ve met him once, been to his house, spent three excruciating hours because at that point I was very uncomfortable. Early years. I was super nervous. There were so many other people also. There was a party in his house, and I was like, ‘What am I doing here? I don’t deserve to be here. I’m just here because I’m friends with some other people who are here.'”
Asked what the house is like on the inside, Gulshan Devaiah said, “Lot of things. There’s a big marble statue of I think Radha Krishna. It was quite beautiful. Big dining table with lots of lights on the floor. I haven’t seen the entire house because we were only in the area where they entertain the guests, which is quite a big area. It starts from the side and joins the main Mannat, the old building. But the actual residential area is Mannat annexure, which is the building at the back.”
Gulshan said that the old bungalow has been conserved because of regulations around heritage properties. He also revealed that the iconic ‘main gate’ of SRK’s house is ‘just for show’ and for fans to take selfies, because the actual entrance is on the back side. Visiting Shah Rukh’s house is one of the few moments that he was star-struck, Gulshan said, revealing that he felt similarly when he first met Irrfan Khan and Madhuri Dixit as well.
Shah Rukh is currently enjoying the success of his second film of the year, Jawan, which is soon going to surpass Pathaan as his biggest hit, and the biggest Bollywood release of all time in India. The film is on the verge of passing the Rs 900 crore mark globally.
