Fighter is trying to put up a fight. The first big Bollywood release of the year, which was expected to replicate the success of last year’s Pathaan, is trying hard to sustain its momentum. After a week in the theatres, the Hrithik RoshanDeepika Padukone starrer is crawling at the box office.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Fighter minted Rs 6.35 crore on Wednesday, which is its lowest figure since its release on January 25. After a good extended weekend–which got a major boost due to the Republic Day holiday–Fighter came crashing down on its first Monday. Since then, the collections of the film have stayed in single digits. Globally, the film has made Rs 229.8 crore.

So far, the Siddharth Anand directorial has minted Rs 140.35 crore in India and will close its extended week one collections under Rs 150 crore. Even in comparison to underperformers like Dunki and Tiger 3, Fighter’s collections are noticeably low. While the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki minted Rs 152 crore in seven days, in a clash with Salaar, Salman Khan fronted Tiger 3 clocked in Rs 214 crore.

The numbers of Fighter are nowhere near Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan’s last collaboration, War, which was a huge blockbuster. The YRF actioner , in the same time frame of seven days, had netted Rs 208 crore (Hindi) back in 2019.

The film will now see a boost with its second weekend, where it would hope to put up a respectable total. Hrithik will next be seen in War 2, where he co-stars with Jr NTR while Deepika would hope to get he big success with Prabhas fronted Kalki 2898 AD, set to release in May.

The film has no major competition except for Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which releases on February 9.
