After touring the lavish multi-storey home of actor Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, director and producer Farah Khan decided to take it up a notch in her latest vlog. This time around she, along with her cook Dilip, took a trip to the Taj Fateh Prakash Palace in Udaipur to meet with the king of Mewar, Lakshyaraj Singh. Named after the former king of Mewar, Maharana Fateh Singh, the palace left Farah and Dilip shocked with its grandeur and beauty. Dilip even imagined himself as a former resident of the palace, a dream that Farah quickly intervened in to get him back to reality.

At the airport, Farah and Dilip went to Starbucks, where the latter walked around the store with child-like curiosity. Dilip offered Farah a cup, but after the director rolled her eyes at the offer, Dilip told her, “Ma’am, mera bag dekhna, mai coffee pi raha hoon (Ma’am, take care of my bag while I drink my coffee).” Upon reaching Udaipur, Farah and Dilip were received by a chauffeur who had a placard with the director’s name spelt ‘Frah’ Khan. She chalked this up to too much excitement, but as the two started their journey from the airport to the palace, Farah discovered that she will be travelling in a van, while Dilip had a luxury sedan all to himself. She said, “Tujhe car mili hai, aur mujhe bus. Bohot nainsaafi hai. (You got a car, and I got a bus? Look at the injustice.”

They finally made it to the palace, where Farah again felt ignored by the staff and urged one of the palace musicians to walk with her so she wouldn’t feel lonely. While Dilip kept repeating how he had visited the palace a hundred years ago, and Farah kept getting neglected by the staff, the duo made their way to the Taj Lake Palace to meet with the king. He welcomed them to the palace and told Dilip, “Aapse milne ki zyada ichcha thi hamari (I wished to meet you more than anyone else).” After discussing exactly how to address Lakshyaraj, the three of them started preparing a traditional Rajasthani dish known as ‘Laal Maas‘. Farah appreciated the royal setup of the kitchen and asked Lakshyaraj whether ‘men who cook’ was common in his family.

The king answered in the affirmative and said that even his father used to cook. Farah took this opportunity to tell men all over the country to learn from the royalty and step into the kitchen more often. After preparing the meat for a slow cook, Dilip and Farah went over to the king’s garage to look at his family’s collection of vintage cars. Machines belonging to companies like Rolls Royce, Austin, Mercedes-Benz, and Buick were all present in this collection.
